Hendre Lake Volunteer Event Sat 29th March 2025 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

We'll be at Hendre Lake this Saturday morning for our volunteer session. We'll be working to open up a footpath on the western side of the lake. This will involve cutting back and clearing vegetation, coppicing some Willow trees, creating a dead hedge with the cuttings, scraping back grass, moss and soil from the path, and then planting some Hazel tree whips. This work will make the path accessible again and safer to use for all visitors of the lake.

Hendre Lake Park. St Mellons. CF3 0RG. Meet in the car park for 10am. If you're joining us after 10am, we'll be on the western side of the lake.

All tools will be provided but please bring your own gardening/work gloves if you have them. Please wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear.

We hope to see you all on Saturday and don't forget, it's the Bumblebee Indentification & Bee Walk at Hendre Lake with Tom at 12.30pm. If attending both events, we'd recommend bringing a drink and packed lunch
